Litigation Associate Attorney

Our client, a highly regarded Colorado litigation practice, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to support its expanding construction defect defense group. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain substantial responsibility, work directly with clients and experts, and develop sophisticated litigation skills in a collaborative environment. Attorneys are encouraged to take ownership of their cases while receiving mentorship from experienced trial lawyers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a diverse docket of construction, casualty, premises liability, and general negligence defense matters.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery requests, responses, and legal briefs.
  • Develop litigation strategies and evaluate liability and damages exposure.
  • Conduct witness interviews and factual investigations.
  • Manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery and document review.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings.
  • Coordinate with insurers, consultants, engineers, and expert witnesses throughout litigation.
  • Analyze technical, contractual, and factual issues relevant to construction and liability disputes.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness preparation, and pretrial motion practice.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding litigation strategy, budgeting, and case developments.

The ideal candidate is a Colorado-licensed attorney in good standing with at least three years of civil litigation experience. Experience in insurance defense, construction defect, casualty, general liability, or commercial litigation is preferred. Candidates should have a strong foundation in discovery, motion practice, legal writing, and case management, with deposition experience highly valued. The successful attorney will be an organized, client-focused professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to independently manage multiple matters.
